THE FALCON AND THE DOVE

Into the winter flew the falcon and the dove
Two separate lives, yet so alike.
One looking for a place to soar and fly,
The other for a place to nest and die.

Don't give in to the feelings outside you,
Remember what you have inside.
Others may say that they know what is best.
They always judge and analyze,
Not realizing that they tear apart,
Every thought and dream in your mind.

Give me peace and a place to rest,
Like the dove within her nest.
Give me strength and the will to fight,
Like the falcon in flight.

I have risen and I have flown
Like the falcon I have soared alone
I have wandered and I have roamed
Like the dove I have found a home.

My God Lady B this is inspirational and beautiful.  I LOVED this piece, to me it's a wonder!!  Thanks so much for sharing it with us

At night the moon became a face,
I met the spirit of life,
the spirit of love and music. And I am better for it.

When you look in the mirror...
Wish you were somebody else
Just a perfect reflection
You and no one else...
Minutes run into hours
Hours run into days
You're still waiting for someone
Who never ever came...
Go and run through the hallways
Find your way to the door
You will end up like always
Back where you were before...
Then you look in the mirror
Wish you were somebody else
But it's still your reflection
You and no one else...

Thank you both.

Beleive it or not this poem has taken over 10 years to write.  I haven't rewritten anything, just every few years I add a new verse.  I guess that makes this a poem in progress?

Maybe it won't be completely done until I am.
