Enclosed Four walls, all that is there What else can I do but sit back and stare At the world through a frame What is out there can never be the same Trapped from having true fun I would escape from here and run My joy encased in a pill My life, it seems, is an ill All the blanks I cannot fill If only I ever had the will I would go out and stand to the ocean My heart filled with so much emotion But for now I sit here, wanting to get out All I can do is scream and shout "We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgement; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness. We have multiplies our possessions, but reduced our values. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life." |

Auricom, I really love this poem... I always relate to your poems... this one is emotionally beautiful. Also I really like the message of your signature...who's words are they? they speak the truth of life today...sadly. take care, janet marie Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Some emotions run too deep to be described by words, Forgiveness and understanding- remain the most beautiful words ever heard. Janet Marie |
