Lavender Love...
come back to me.
I haven't had time
to dedicate your scent to memory.
Petals fall...
and so do people.
Is that an excuse to wilt?
I will never bloom,
because I don't want to die.

Great analogy to flowers here.  The last line really says it all doesn't it?

 Joy

"To you, my children, These lovely flowers I give.
Prune ye my vines and fig trees,
With care my flowerets tend,
But keep the pathway open,
Your home is at the end."

-Robert Frost

Good poem! I think this is why I don't like cut flowers..I'd rather have a plant that I know will grow - except I don't have green thumb so they die anyway...but I did like your poem!
