the shape of the sound could never quite form correctly though silence should have shown devilish eyes prohibited the utterance for so long, each game quietly observed learning secrets following movements until i know every card you will lay i'll call you bluffs, poker face, and when you least expect the ace will be mine to control lips will quiver anticipating and open ever so slightly to reveal a single syllable read it and weep an undeniable "no" |
