Who is insane? Is it we who dare to stray, From tired traditon and convention Or they who adhere to and obey, Like robots, the will of the beast? Drowning in the undertow of conformity, The pin-stripe-suited drones Grope desperately for the lifeline of individuality, Only to find it just out of their reach. And we, With insane glimmers in our eyes, Watch with feined sympathy from the shore, Click our tongues, Grimly shake our heads, And walk away. Sanity is the playground of the unimaginative. |

Oh this is ponderous. Our insanity could be their reality? I don't judge people that harshly, and hope the same when I am judged. Thought provoking poem this one!! Bravo Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

I, too, have written poems about the pathetic conformity of the majority of society. I find it so depressing the lack of originality and individuality instilled in each and every one of us, of what we should be. Thanks for the great poem. |
