Once again you will have to excuse me. This one may come across like more of a story. It's about a very dear family friend of mine who passed away in July '98. He's been on my mind alot lately, so what could I do? Here go's, enjoy. Over a year later and I still think of you with each waking day Recalling all of the memories from the childhood we shared Unable to hold back the tears while I laugh, and start to cry The feeling is bittersweet We grew apart as we grew up Our busy lives taking seperate paths But there was always that one week During July of every year When we would come together to laugh, and joke, and tell our stories Just like when we were kids I never could have imagined that you would be taken away with so much more of your life to live I only wish we would have kept our ties bound a little tighter And you could not have known that in those last days spent together the simplest thing you said would mark the begining of a change in me I didn't even know it then But I keep it fresh, within my mind So that when we meet again I can share with you the story of what you did for me And we can laugh and joke once more Just like when we were kids [This message has been edited by danni (edited 01-09-2000).] |

Very touching. Reminds me of a friend I lost to a car accident. We only spent time togethor on New Years of every year. Makes you appreciate the time that you did spend togethor. That's why I believe in telling someone how you really feel so you won't regret it later. When it's too late. Nice work danni. Hope the dear memories of your friend are remembered forever in your heart.< !signature--> There is a dream inside a dream. I'm wide awake the more I sleep. You'll understand when I'm dead - B. Thank you Chained Angel. I didn't have the time to tell him. He died in an accident a week after we came back from the family vacation we took every year. And I didn't realize the impact his words had had on me until many months later. The memories are definately in my heart. Thanks again for the nice response. |

Danni hon tis sad to lose anyone dear to you. You are growing up loss is inevitable. Perhaps you should do as I, and remember all the lost loved ones and friends on New Year's eve. That is what Auld Lang Syne is all about remembering old friends and loved ones. I wrote a poem in OP5 New Year's Grief about a beloved uncle of mine right on New Year's if you care to go and look. You'll never forget them, and it helps to remember them, and honour the memory in a poem. Well done Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely. ~Isis~ (Sovereign of the Spirit) |

It hurts dearly to lose someone from your youth such as this. I like the way you ended this with seeing each other again and laughing and telling stories. Just a brilliant way of thinking about such a loss. "Write down what you say if what you say is not written down" (Bojopy) |

Excellent! Rest in the fact of knowing, the memories will brighten your thoughts as the fleeting years roll by. Blessings! Words bloom like flowers that seem astonished at being born. L. Pirandello 16th Century Dramatist |
