each word you speak
leaves jagged gashes upon my heart
as rivers of blood
pool and shimmer in the firelight

while I watch
helpless
as my soul flows down
through the cracks in the floor

gazing in careless fascination
you watch
amazed by the power you have over me
drawn to me by your hunger for pain
like a moth to the flame
with blank stare
watching as my life seeps from me
shallowly smiling
as you walk away
