Drapped over her bed she lays frozen still, Only her hot tears stir and only the clock ticks in the thick silence; Her body raped of it's senses, Her mind left with no guide No one left to hold her dear all is lost and empty here, without ever knowing why; Maybe it's because she was never good enough Or maybe because she was never loved and even if so, they never let her know And the the heart was lost somewhere that in that blinding night; The pen shaking, as she searches her mind Trying to find some life in there, something she had tried to hide Something inside her to push her forward; And she stumbles and she falls, with only herself to get kicked in the face But as the blood runs down her face she cries out, "No! You are not the one!," "My time's end still hasn't come!" There will be no one to watch her fall nor know what color it is that she cries; She walks away, ignoring the pain haunting her every breath Holding forth and displaying her pride, With shaded eyes and a lion's grin, she makes her way in careful, steady strides |

manson? hmm...well I was listening to Shirley Manson when I was writing this...I was too off in a daze to really know what I was writing. Just writing whatever came to me. Then it came to the title and I just picked manson because it had nothing to do with the poem but it was something going on at the time. Thanks for your time. |

I loved this one. Shirley is one of my fave's, "I'm only happy when it rains". I think the title fits well. |

I was wondering about the title - I am glad you clarified where it came from. I was stuck on the Charles Mason - Helter Skelter thing...LOL funny how certain words key images in the mind. Excellent poem, btw. Michael |
