The lights are on but they aren't shining for me, The house all bright and cosy, I walk in never ending darkness, No gift of light for me. The nightsky lights are on for one and all, They shine so brightly in the heavens, For me I see them distant and cold, Twinkling yet with hearts of ice. The refrigerator light a gift to the beholder, No searching for food or drink in the dark, You open the door even only a crack, The light is there like a spark. Once my lights burned brightly, Brighter than the sun, Now it flickers unsure of itself, It'll probably burn out and that's no fun. Favourable spark in the distance, It IS shining there for me, I look at it in wonder, Such beauty warming to me. That distant light I witness, Is called hope, friendship and love, I ever struggle towards it, True love and contentment are waiting there you see. Isis-- well you could always write about moving on from losing your first love which would make you admirable to others...i dont know...just an idea! ashley |
