Somewhere in the night a child cries, A woman weeps and someone dies. Somewhere in the night, humanity hides. Somewhere in the night , a soul screams, As people fade and die, lost in dreams. Somewhere in the night, reality lives. Somewhere in the night lonliness dwells, As poeple die, no sounding bells. Somewhere in the night, she dies alone. Somewhere in the night ... Where is the light? [This message has been edited by Marilyn (edited 12-13-1999).] |

Very powerful, but also very sad. The words in this one say so much. |

All too common situation, when something happens in the dank alleyways and nobody hears or sees a thing, though they are gathered 'round in a mute crowd. Thank you for sharing this one. Marilyn, Someone once told me light needs a source...but dark is everywhere - always. I like to think some people shine in darkness, this poem certainly does. hey, Balladeer, you don't make it over here too often, glad to see you visiting the "Dark Room". Michael |

Indeed does the Light need a source and Darkness does reign. The Light hurts. Now and forever, my heart hears ~one voice~. Isis...I have witnesses the glory of the setting of the sun. Now I await the wonder of the dawning of a bright new day. It will come some time...til til then I flounder in the darkness. danni...Thankyou for your response. I am glad you enjoyed it. Ruth...my friend...You know the darkness as well as I. Just know I am here to walk through it with you. Persnikitty...I wish I knew what to do to change these things?? *sigh* Balladeer....It is sad. Thankyou for reading this. Michael....Thankyou. These words from one I admire touches my heart. Dream...the light hurts only because we have been fumbling in the dark too long. Once we become used to the light again, the darkness will seem ugly. Like this very much Marilyn Sad, yet poignant..... Light and dark go hand in hand.... Jenny Love is an attempt at penetrating another being,But it can only succeed if the surrender is mutual. |
