I should really stop reading what I can’t understand About alternate realities and other dimensions That the choices we make and the turns that we take Spin off realities, that are real in their own right Sending myriads of “me”s down the train tracks of time Never to meet and catch up on the “old days” Now, this paper before me seems substantial enough As substantial, I guess, as paper can be What I’m trying to say, is that I know that its real That this paper and I both share the same space Or time, or whatever it is that allows me to hold it And fill it with thoughts no matter how odd Needless to say I have no head for physics But can surely appreciate the poetry I find there So, I’m given to wonder what the other “me”s do What side-tracks they’ve taken and if they fare well Did at least one of my alternates make the decision To do the hard thing that kept us together? I imagine, that an alternate “me” in an alternate now May be laying beside her in an alternate here Or that somewhere, an alternate “I” is watching her read While I scratch in this notebook Or another of those multiples just swatted her butt When she strolled by my desk The rest of this poem is here (in behind closed doors) /main/forumdisplay.cgi?action=displayprivate&number=61&topic=000207 |

"Needless to say I have no head for physics But can surely appreciate the poetry I find there" This may be the oddest thing I've ever related to in a poem but when I read these lines, I just shook my head and laughed. Years ago, when I discovered Physics, I saw the poetry and was absolutely obsessed for months with exploring much the same tangents you have here. Ed, once again... ![]() ![]() |

It is simple, really: As the speed of thought Expression accelerates to reach the Constant of the speed of rhyme, the value of Metaphor grows exponentially to achieve infinite mass. ![]() |

Fantastic! (Both in here and over yonder).. I have a feeling the other "me's" are just as confused as this me... *sigh* My head hurts. "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |
