Assisting God I found peace of mind in acknowledging solitude And, dined a bit with refreshing as memories renewed Clung to sandy stones placed along the waters edge Recalling it all, in sweet harmony, on natures bed... Fine grains of ground slipped beneath but I didn't move The world did it's part and I just kept thinking through For, I found you there among that mighty sun Realizing, beneath it's rays just what I've done... For, I have loved like an aging soul when life's at it's end Loved, as just born, with the instinct innocence sends I have loved like the honesty in a prayer being prayed And, loving you, I'm assisting God, in a miracle HE made... Nothing finer, not even those sands that sift while apart Oh, my reward is your face I carry inside this heart If I can assist God, in your being, that has blessed us all Then, how fortunate to be one of them to hear that call... Here, in grip of losing the earth under my feet I stir, yet find us on those golden streets I won't give with the grounds that can't hold their place For, I'm like dust in the wind, I move with eternal grace... I find love in shades most never know are there I assist in that love, for you, that is everywhere I know you, I see you, I find you, I do Just in that purest miracle of being you... Saunni, I'll always like the way your mind works. There's much about this poem that touches me. Nice write...  If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |
