On the same gusts of wind, we shivered; 2 gawky reeds against the script that fate wrote for us; from the bay window the gulls flew off, unphased and unknowing of what hopes a citygirl spun upon their undaunted flight, to bring back the adventures a project kid could string her imagination upon reaching ......reaching ...........reaching your surpassed yourself and hopped the carousel when it slowed enough for your ride upon it leaving me to myself and the others like me in the clutches of selfdoubt and insecuries, along with dreams and hopes, trying hard to climb from the deep well of a sometimes manmade lonely abyss, as i see you now solid and centered, an old oak that can still somehow fly; still waivering, though now in a beautiful way, as your flute plays one with the breeze, balanced as a stream that flows beneath those ripples, which for no apparent reason, seem to blow in from time to time, i stand here stuck; still waivering, not yet catching the calling that you were gifted enough to realize when its time had come, urging you to eclipse the shame and selfconsciousness that your childhood, as did mine, ring us with, i remain somehow coasting, hoping to catch a glimpse of what could have been my own life, parallel to yours, if i didnt run too far away from my own gifts that struggle within me still for release and affirmation; as i am a mere twig, to you the mature and zenblessed tree, i have no angst though nor complaints or regrests, i won't blame fate, nor birthplace nor daddy, life is what it is; quote the buddha 'life is suffering'; none of us truly lead a charmed life, do we? i coast; if it happens... it happens if not, i could still stand somewhat erect, still sway along the same windgusts, somehow always finding magic, to counteract whatever befalls upon me. |

I liked this...I liked the centeredness and the virtue of each word. So many volumes in the book of life. TD |

I can not pick a favorite line nor stanza.. Each filled with such heartache, longing, hope and understanding... Truly an impressive piece! "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |
