Moments sweep their enchanted dew in mist A spray of wet in mesmerize such anecdote The only candle in the sky shines upon you From afar I have watched this ebbing horizon Vertical signals pulse like coronary beats And fear is real, quicksilver in its rampage Shooting stars of mercury flows Hot then cold, I shiver in reply A blind created of frustration and sorrow First folding you into the small of silence Then suddenly the powerful arms of escape The waters smooth between us, clear and quiet Your hands spread open, your body willow and warm And fear is real, shouting warnings in its surges Snapping elastic reflex to alert Soft then hard, I waver in reply My being hears described the punishing moan Drawing my eyes, gently enfolding the tears How strong the draw of gravity compels My heart builds up a home to shelter you From kindling dropped upon the emerald floor And fear is real, quivering my fingers, rippling my voice Drawing me in silhouette of you against the night Flowing in my blood, to pour in ebony rush Copyright Kkh 5/2/04 |
