I am driving toward the river where the highway runs in place, every nuance of this path home has been up in my face for decades; I'd bet even money I could drive it in my sleep, but always, along the river, some unique gesture seals the day; tonight is no different, as I turn to seize the ramp, a young falcon takes off hunting from the park across the way, lazy circles, no great hurry, there's an hour left of light, in the park along the river his sight will find a meal, fast food for the flying perfect hunter of the skies, and I envy him his freedom as my heart joins him to fly. ©2004 by icebox |

There are two ways I can name that are nearly transcendental for me. One is driving the daily route, and the other watching birds. Suffice it to say, your poem left me with serenity and optimistic feelings. Enjoyed the view.  .....jo |
