Appears as a rock, perfectly still carapace rim tapers to a sill, serpentine head reaches back to snap picked up by its tail, a head veers back Find the reptilian under nook and cranny a soup is prepared all fine and dandy; a lesson is learnt, it still walks steady the hare in the race was much to ready... Varieties navigate seas until beaches call eggs are deposited in soft sands by dusk fall; by the full moon young hatch to replenish its stock its blind march continues, danger rules the block From small painted forms to boxed variety In native lore, it reached a legendary deity; larger cousins were studied for genetic traits a cumbersome gait sealed their certain fate... Time marches on, hares still leap by comparison, turtles are content to creep; lessons are endlessly learnt from those who race turtles reach final lines at their own pace. © Copyright 2004 ecrivan [This message has been edited by wordwizard (04-29-2004 10:22 PM).] |
