Her Fragrance (For Mother's Day)

Her Fragrance

Wrapped in a warm soft blanket she gathers you close
The light fragrance of rose comes drifting to you on wings
as delicate as an angels breath
Her voice gentle saying, “Hush baby,” as she strokes and kisses the
tired tears away in the darkness
of
sleepy midnight.

The first day of school, dressed in your best finery
The fragrance of polished floors; warm bread and a tangy aroma
fill the air
Her voice saying in a gentle tone,
“It’s alright honey your a big boy now,” as she gently kisses your
cheek and gives you a tender smile.

Today is graduation day; you are dressed in a cap and gown
The fragrance of perfumes and men’s colognes
fill the warm sultry auditorium
Her voice saying, “Son I’m so proud of you,”
as tears of joy fill her loving eyes.

Today is Mother’s Day
She is dressed in
her best finery, a gown of silk, trimmed in champagne lace.
Her fragrance of delicate rose fills your life with memories
of
unconditional love
Your voice saying to the most loving woman in your life
“I love you mom
You have been my best friend; you have been my guiding light in
the storm of life
You have never wavered in your love so I give you this
single red rose
Happy Mother’s Day.”
