there were fine lines of distinction illustrating her face like colors of rank one pressed in by trial around her exalted temple and another by the creasing of lips devised in the sanctuary of a thousand smiles as light fell on willowy eyes the infatuation of her youth beamed through for eyes do not age the soul does not they would say and I know not whether to believe it but in the negotiating of her elegant visage it seemed at once possible that Socrates was in fact still Socrates somewhere else |
