Soon to Die Licking up the last corner of a 1910, red and yellow tongues hunger for remaining bits of cream paint. black ash footprints white foam drifts There will be no memories to rekindle here, even of the trees, boiled. [This message has been edited by Krawdad (04-24-2004 08:03 PM).] |

Thank you for the explanation. I was captured by your write, but wondered .. A powerful rendering of what you witnessed. Love, Margherita |

I must admit...at first I was a bit confused...but now...the image is "roaring" and I love the description of the trees...so unique and right on target. Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

What came to me were thoughts from Farenheit 451, and the loss of books... thank you, Sir. |

Hi Krawdad, must say I love your description of a burnt down house, despite the sadness of the event. And I love your new photo too. Titia Like scattered leaves...my words will flow |

I read this and thought, "I can relate." Then I read your explanation and blushed, thinking, "no wonder I can relate." ![]() Thanks for the awesome poetry e. |

Krawdad When I read this I related it to the fires last year in our So Cal mountains...I wasn't too far off. Well done...hope you are staying safe! |

So few words so full of meaning. Having watched my home burn to the ground in the wee hours of the morning, this poem speaks volumns. My favorite trees gone too. And I loved that 100 year old lilac bush! Sooo very sad, that lovely lilac that lived for sooo very long. I still miss it. Susan |
