I have beat my fist upon the wall
of your ignorance.

Screaming for your sanity.
Screaming at your rigidity.

Thinking I alone could make you right,
whole,
sane.

A bit pretentious
on my part.

However, my intentions
were sincere.

Albeit a bit self-serving.

But I figure you owed me that.

So you are who you are
and I keep my distance.
Least the sweat of it
seeps into my skin.

Tainting me more
than your actions already did.

"cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind"

ouch!
Since I often muck horse stalls and regularly muck and groom the workout arena, the title made me chuckle...but the poem did not.
sounds like a good time to shovel it all out of your barn.

You certainly did do your best ~ and beyond!!! You deserve far better than what you were getting ~ which did not appear to be what dreams are made of.

Yes, now it is time for you to do your best at keeping your distance, lest he taint your skin even more!

You are beautiful, both within and without!
~ especially "without" him!

Loving hug & a high-five!

This really says it, and says it well.

Yanno Myrtle?  Some folks aren't even worth the space they'd take up on your lawn.  (Let alone in your head)
Though, the thought of reincarnation as a pile, does have a certain poetic justice to it...

Very well done!

I wonder if I missed this for a reason.

I hope you get to see the fireworks when you are in the City.  If I'd known you would be next door, I might have made other plans.  *grin*

Susan,  I think your quote..(signature at the bottom of your post)  pretty much sums
up the feel of this.  We all try,  and some
walk away with shattered molars from gritting
their teeth so tight that the squeak of the
jaw can be heard far away....prior to the
blood curdling scream of frustration!!!
