Needle darning the cloth thick air: Double chatter, warning storms are gathering, Of sun-ray aureoles knifing nimbus- Saint heads, hanging gray, of swords Of light that slash, lading Leaden bladders, water content, free... * Nothing whirs but wings of these, The wind rests, as I descend the steps To brim with nectar saccharine Glass and plastic flowers, That grow on twisted iron stems. * Like battle rumble, distant trouble Crests the mountains, fills the valleys And of sudden, both the Jewels disappear; Seeming straight into the sun-ray fountain... * Its then that I imagine them Refreshing colors,weaving out And in with wings and feathers; Swabbing paint of ruby red And rainbow-greens of emerald, From the palette of the arch. |
