by Ethel M. Kent June, 1985 ~*~ Sometimes we seem to forget to say "thank you" to our Dad Especially when we have grown up and our own problems we have had But I'd like to say as best I can in these few verses I write That I thank you, God, for all the times for our family, Dad used courage and might And I thank You, God, for all the many times he worked when I'm sure he wasn't able So we could have a good place to sleep good clothes and plenty of food on the table And God, I used to think he was being too strict when I had to be home in such a hurry But now I know if he hadn't had such love he would never have bothered to worry So I thank you, God, for my Dad and help me always to show it So that even though I forget to say "I love you" he will always know it ~*~ |

I'm sure he knows. My two year old speaks "Swahili" (Spelling?) and yet, when he looks up at me, I know. My 16 year old (17 in July) doesn't speak too much to us. We're not cool enough. But, again, when he looks at me it's unsaid, but said, that yes he loves me. It doesn't have to be said...just felt. And, in some intrinsic way, we just know it even when we aren't looking at them. Very touching tribute to your father. Kevin |
