As the child is sleeping
As soundly as can be
Right before his eyes
He can plainly see

A place filled with laughter
A magical land of dreams
Where everyone is happy
And things are as they seem

Where all is joy and peace
Where no-one speaks a cross word
This place is full of joy and love
And no shouting is ever heard

I wonder if he wishes
That he could ever stay there
Where Mommy and Daddy are happy
And fear he would not bear

Lost in thought

I remember when I was 4 (I was a always a bit awkward and abnormal), I realised that life wasn't all too great, but that when it went on it was just going to get harder and more confusing... so I wanted to stay that age.
I'll bet, in their dreams, that's the wish of most children. It's so amazing to see a child's peace and to watch them smile... such innocence. It's sad that we grow into fear so well...
This is a beautiful write, Ethel.

Ethel Mae, I wish what you have so tenderly expressed, could be true for every child on this planet! That would truly be Heaven on Earth!

Lovely, this is what I wish for my granddaughters, but they don't have much of a chance at having it.

Great, refreshing right.  It reminds me of one of my favorite blue-grass tunes, "Rock Candy Mountain".  If I remember correctly, they played it on that "O'Brother, Where Are Thou" movie.  Yes, it reminds me of that quite a bit.  It seems like a great place to be.  Even if just in dreams.  Well done.

ethel,
As a child sleeps...  wouldn't it be nice if all children and adults slept without fear:
   A place filled with laughter
A magical land of dreams
Where everyone is happy
And things are as they seem

Where all is joy and peace
Where no-one speaks a cross word
This place is full of joy and love
And no shouting is ever heard

A beautiful wish, ethel.  Thank you for sharing your heart.

Such beauty in thought, and that it could be so.  Children are magic.

I wish this could be so, as well Ethel. It's so difficult when dreams are a better place than reality for some. You've captured this sweetly.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit
