Brought into a world for its share of meat stripped of its coat for one to wear cut at their throats for yearly sacrifice yet grown to become what you count at night... free of sacrifice free of human vice When you count sheep as each has a number or cut the stuff that clothes the frozen Do you think of dabbing their blood on lintels, or of what can return them to a fairer haven? free of sacrifice free of human vice. |
