Thank you for your friendship It means so much that you are always there Never do you pretend to be anything but a friend I always know you care It's so nice in a world that can be so cold To have someone who really stands up for you Someone who listens to your problems They help you see things through Thank you for always having the time Never do you turn me away I sit here rambling on and on And still you listen and you stay It means so very much I hope these simple words show how I feel You mean the world to me Thank you for always keeping things real You are there to soften the blows of life Yet you tell me when I'm wrong too Listening always you are to my daily problems Sometimes I don't know what I'd do without you Sure poetry helps me to unwind It's you though that makes me smile today And it's high time you get the praise you deserve We are the best of friends, and I hope it always stays this way-- "When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter" |

You have described beautifully, the true character of a true friend. That is what they're supposed to do. Unfortunately, most of the time a "friend" simply uses you only as long as it suits them. Tears came to my eyes when I read all of your replies...this poem was sort of a poem to all of you, for being such wonderful loving people...I've had a very difficult time with my family lately and am still struggling but it helps so much to know that there are people in this world who genuinely care. I have been posting on Passions for over four years now and during that time have learned so much! Thank you all for helping to teach me about friendship and life...
