My Heart Was Unprepared

The barriers came down
As I failed to get through
I ask why this happened
Its puzzling without a clue

I had attempted to reach
Why was I being denied
They must have reasons
Why else would they hide

It still remains a mystery
Of why they built the wall
Was goodbye ever said
Well not that I could recall

Love was to be timeless
Feelings equally shared
Why was I being shut out
My heart was unprepared

Hearts are stronger than we suspect ... even though unprepared they know how to react, if reasoning does not come in the way.
