Angel Tears

I’ve heard them say that rain is angel tears;
it’s a thought to show a child, no more.

I’ve seen an angel cry, and though
there’s rain in her, the tears are real.
When an angel sees the joy of life,
joy or sometimes whelming sorrow,
she will cry -- that’s why she came to be.
Angels cry for many things, like you and I,
sometimes when something is so good,
so good it ought to be but never could,
or when what should have been by now
somehow arrives, there will be angel tears.
But there are other times, the dark times
when what couldn’t, shouldn’t ever be, is.
That’s when angels cry indeed, and when
the tears are many they may borrow other eyes,
to let them help until the time for tears is past.

That’s why I’m not ashamed of these.
It’s because, angel, they are yours.

This touches this mere mortal deeply... It is easy to share another's joy... to be willingly share their pain and tears takes a special kind of love. Beautiful work!
