Ponds of Windsor

Oh that day of 20 years
NO!! 30 now gone by.
Insignificant decades passing
For the grip it has on me
Chokes the present life
Into blackness pondering
A shoreline vague with abstract
Ripples lapping up time
In layered sand leading
Me to water calling a name
I won’t remember.
Because time is a barrier that
Separates me from then…
A canvas I stare at wishing

Robert

I wish this were so much better for the goosebumps I had in the coming of this deserve more.

Well ... until this, I didn't realize goosebumps were contagious~
But ... I got 'em~

Your closing line captures the sentiments of the poem well.  It is a keeper...instant classic.  Thanks for sharing it.
