We Shall Overcome

Dedicated to the Heroes of the day - Those who stand in defiance of Terror.

Weep not sweet mother of freedom.
Wipe away the crimson tears.

With grace, return your crown to your sweet brow.
Worry not for it is never broken nor even cracked.

It's brilliance reflects only unity and strength
among myriad in the midst of opposing few.

Endure.

Return seasoned tablets to the cradling arms of liberty;
resounding hope for the weary
who have been mired in oppression and despair.
Dress your wound.
Tis' but a wound of the flesh.

The crimson tide at your feet
serves to fuel the flame of freedom.

Yes, mother, your torch still stands.
At the very summit of your being,
still guiding liberty.

If ever you suffer the loss of your flame
know that it survives at the heart's summit
within the whole of your children
never to be drawn away,
never to be trampled
and moreover never to be extinguished.

Nay should you worry as well sweet mother
about your patriot sons and patriot daughters.
The day has been long in wait,
and we are longer in the tooth.

We wait with unparalleled passion
to unbridle justice,
and eradicate terror from our midst.

Suffer the children fathered by terror.
Hopeless and futile be their cause
for tis' not righteous.

Evil shall know only futility
and anguish among the heroes of the day.
They will falter then fail.
They indeed, will return
to their tainted yet now liberated soil.

Mother, your brood of liberty shall never fall.
Patriot love of your principled crown
is undying and unyielding.

Rest not.

The day soon will come as well
when justice greets glory in alliance of freedom.

Shall we drink from the crimson tide?
Yes, in remembrance of the heroes of the day we will.
We shall partake of their suffering,
and immerse ourselves in their struggle
for liberty and justice.

For, we the free world must never forget
that this crimson tide, sacrifice,
governs our trialed sovereignty
and unwavering resolve.

We shall overcome, mother.
We shall overcome.

Wow!  I love the language of this.  As elegant as that of those spoken in past.  Reminds me of the Founding Fathers and others of their time, eloquent and potent.  Beautiful.
