Gesture of Humanity Tonight, the inner child murmurs “I love you” Obeying melody, neath the sheets of scented maple Butter cream coating teases awareness while Neutral forces voyage a world of nodding mobiles Wearing potential, like lawns of bright green grass While streetlights burn steady, skipping in the distance Few miles, they have seen, these child tenants of dream Unlike us, they’ve not yet learned, to cross the street Well-mannered stencils, form generous overtones Bouncing flaps of springtime practicing warm ups, Sinister red-eyed agendas suddenly decide They’ve had enough, try to get out…all spent and tried So slip into a perfect day, as children oft times do Allow a lullaby to tenderly yawn and waken you Melt into the waiting arms of knowing where to begin Wandering with sea green meadows of neon imagination Precious hands of lyrics wait and ask so little Cicadas sing upon the sound of ultra-violet dimples They are enthusiasts of creativity floating in the air Bonding wishes, coming out in thousands of metaphors So… Touch a gesture of humanity’s muse From whence an inter-mixture of watercolors ooze |

So slip into a perfect day, as children oft times do Allow a lullaby to tenderly yawn and waken you Melt into the waiting arms of knowing where to begin Wandering with sea green meadows of neon imagination Just exquisite; dreamlike... I adore your last two lines as well. One of my favorites, Lee! |

You have touched the cords of the dreamer in me, who has always been able to step back from life and see it through more innocent eyes. How beautifully you express another self, perhaps the real one. Liz |

Love this, because I love children... Especially here.. "Few miles, they have seen, these child tenants of dream" and here, in these glowing lines... "Melt into the waiting arms of knowing where to begin Wandering with sea green meadows of neon imagination" and the end, with its serious type of humor...... ![]() excellent, LeeJ, enjoyed muchly -------ice ><> |
