These eyes have seen much in their short twenty-seven years I've witnessed many miracles, and had pain that caused me tears I'm really not that special, it's just the approach I take on things Instead of giving up, I find ways to allow my heart to sing This soul has been interwined with good and bad I've seen more than some twice as old as me It's not that I'm better than anyone else It's just I've learned how to be free-- I use to chase the demons in the night They were such a part of my everyday Now though I just listen to what my heart says I let it guide the way These eyes could tell you many stories There have been times I thought I could take no more Then I turned inward and looked upward I found my wings to soar This soul could paint you a picture You could never see in any art gallery For it's the picture of who I've become The person I call ME "When life gives you sorrow, may you experience the spirit of laughter" |
