there is a lesson to be learnt
from the follies of daily don’ts
when so little is done
assuming the most

automatic
for the whinging
tribe

like the machine on the wall
when all one has to do is
feed in a card and four digits
and watch a wad of currency
making its way out

like a soft whistle
that young men’s brigade
held in reserve
to lavish upon
nymphettes of oomph
making their way
through summer heat
with toxic sing-alongs
of countless trivia
dressing their lips
lusciously

vogue is long gone-by
as remix is the flava
of modern talking
boyz and gurlz

it goes without saying that
while age plays catch-up
trends are rebirthed
and what was outrage then
has now become
an out-n-out rage

on one of the tomorrows,
when Venus tries to melt itself
into the arms of the sun,
someone will be busy
filling the machine,
as unforgettable melodies
of golden yesterdays
decorate arid lips

just like trees,
as they survive
the scorching of age,
provide plentiful shade
to the needy

A keeper for sure, Suhir!  Did you watch Venus melt?  I did -- we get the NASA channel here and I watched it live (stayed up the entire night!).     ....jo
