Poet’s Choice

A poet for your taking
through leaves I’ve gone a’raking
upon my early waking ~
this poet, for your taking.

A skip through leaves, I wandered,
looking for souls, I floundered,
as in your past I sauntered...
skipping leaves, having wondered.

Weighing now those yesterdays,
holding that which was saved;
they won't join me in my grave,
weighty now, those yesterdays.

This poet, for your taking, is
skipping leaves, having wondered,
weighty now, those yesterdays,
this poet is, of God’s own making.

You often include such a poignancy of searching..and you did it well in this piece.  Well done.  KJ

Excellent...have to thank you for this.

The message really hits home with me, and I truly like the swingy rhythm of it -- like walking through the leaves!

It's time for me to hit the sack, but I just HAD to slip once last read in before going to sleep.  Now, I'll rest assured of good dreams.  The only rustles will be in a playground of leaves!
