Oversight

do you expect me to be here unstirred
as I sit in darkened silent heart break
where disappointment’s lowest point is bottom
again I have fallen short of expectation
by holding my heart out capriciously
thinking there was rebar within wet sand
and gathered stone to make a bridge
to find I just need them now for a wall

I liked the metaphors -- very clever -- and enjoyed the write, tho' sad.   ...jo

All the ingredients...so close but so far.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
