DRUID WIND

Be still my restless soul,
     Be still.

A cold druid wind is in the air tonight.
I can hear it scurrying through the leaves.
The Solstice is rapidly approaching and I am
Filled with an odd sort of longing.

In the distance I can hear it caressing a
     Windchime.
It is calling to me.
Calling to me to ride the wind.
Calling to me to believe in the power of magic.
Calling to me with promises of the old power
That I somehow lost along the way.
What is the source of this nothing?

How can the wind tell legends if there are no legends to tell?
     Is it not primordial?
     Is it not primeval?
     Has it not seen all?
It is ancient, and it is wise.

“Come, my children,” it cries.
“Come and fly with me and the world is yours.”

But I hesitate.
     I have bills to pay.

I believe the most important component of a poem is rhythm. Rhythm is the heartbeat of a poem. It is what makes poetry poetry.

Cool.  Skip the bills, I'll choose the wind.

I say ride the wind, myself. Good one.

It's a difficult proposition to follow the calling of the spirit in a material world.

You described this well, m'friend.

Much luck to you in your endeavor.
