Thunder was out there, Shaking the water out of the thick air, Pelting his shadows, Invading through the edges of his realm, Tapping on windows Changing them to a mud grim flowing film, The puddle slow wet Through the small holes in his second hand shoes, Best shoes he could get When there was nothing left in life to lose Penny gone loafers Covered his bare red and raw sock less feet, Lost all endeavors Nowhere new to go, no one else to meet No one left to call Even if he had the quarter to use, Nothing left at all, No choices of events were his to choose. Somewhere was a plane Winging away to a happy landing, Here was only rain And the puddle there in which he’s standing. Gloom |

well written reality check; sometimes things are so poorly distributed...Enjoyed, but saddened. |

Penny gone loafers...(I like that) I remember when they were all the rage...I wonder if when they were of no more use did everyone take out the coins or just toss them away with the shoes... M |
