Verdant fingers, lush with life close in a canopy creating cavernous calm the solace seeps by way of shimmered rills richly teardrop fed The dark loam is soft like the memory of loves washed clean by time here I can rest my dreams where shadows expand and moments elongate as the dark season approaches I hang musings from branches thick with amber-turning leaves but bury trust beneath roots to decay and fade away In the deep wells of Earth my heart will remain. The looming of oak trees and sweet curve of saplings define the edges of my world an emerald embrace is all I need I can no longer feel the apathy of concrete or the judgment of friends just the sympathetic touch of pine needles and breeze. ~*Krista Lee Knutson*~ |

"I can no longer feel the apathy of concrete or the judgment of friends just the sympathetic touch of pine needles and breeze." Alwye -- this was a really lovely poem and I especially liked this last stanza. We all need to 'hug a tree' every now and then. ....jo |

Oh, but it is SO good to read your poetry again. I agree with Iliana - hugging a tree is a very good thing |
