Fallen Soldiers (Scars of War) Loved ones still cry themselves to sleep at night. Not understanding why men have to fight. Do those that die find rest for their souls? Loved ones hope and pray that there is a beautiful place where fallen soldiers go. Over fifty thousand American soldiers died in a war they never ask for. One million Vietnamese soldiers died. Freedom was their battle cry. One life, too many to sacrifice for something so mean spirited and violent as war. Thousand more, still live with mental and physical pain and anguish as they carry the scars of war. JamesLee May13 2004 |

James, Here's to hoping we find a better way. I feel your pain. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Yes James, war is wrong, if we continue like this, killing each other, humanity as a whole is at risk. May we learn to handle problems peacefully, without shedding blood. Thank you for sharing your compassionate thoughts. Love, Margherita |

JamesMichael~ Such a stirring write~ 'Do those that die find rest for their souls? Loved ones hope and pray that there is a beautiful place where fallen soldiers go.' I believe that just as each man fights for what he believes is right ... each man will be accorded that which God believes is right for the soul~ Thank you for this ponderous penning, my friend~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Unfortunately war happens. As a daughter, grandaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and wife of Veterans, many VFWs, some engaged in war at this time, I know intimately the price of war. But too, I know that because of these couragous souls, I can go to bed at night not worrying if my words spoken during the day could cause myself or my family great harm. I wish we could all just love one another and let peace be in our hearts. But sadly, we also must bear the price of freedom. We just need to remember to go to war only for the right reasons. Excellent write. It speaks truth of the tragic casulties of such sorrow. Susan |

The only consolation out of all of this is that those who fight and die, in our country anyway, choose to... they know what they are fighting for. |

Enjoyed this Pal… I believe all military men who have died have gone to join our Creator in Heaven. He will answer their whys. God bless them and their families, and you for this poem. JL |
