I took my first steps today Daddy
And you weren’t here to see
You weren’t here to catch me Daddy
When I fell and scraped my knee

I said my first words today Daddy
And you weren’t here to listen
No one really knows Daddy
All the things that you’re a missin’

You’re out protecting Freedom Daddy
In an unforgiving land
Please, hurry home to me Daddy
So you can hold my hand

A touching bitter sweet read! So many daddys
that need to hold a hand! continue to pray for peace!
