She feeds silver birds platinum white locks, kissed by golden halo sun, basking in heavenly light fitting adornment for this angel, forever young and beautiful to me, somewhat fragile now, tattered patches gathered on her quilt of life, threads of a hard life's stress woven together with grace touched by her loving hands, she is everything i could only imagine to be, i am at best a twisted twig tainted and vain, hopelessly human, to her, the saintly tree, she is in tune with birds above, while i strain to merely listen and grasp, at some semblance of life's meaning, she stands now in later years, at the beconing of nearby eternity, i wish her soul for some very deserved peace to fill her remaining earthly years before the call back home, as she will have to wait some time there, for me, for now, i am grounded, time spent tending to my own garden, athough her shadow will always transcend back to those below lookin over the harvest she lovingly reaped, she reached for my arm today, crossing winter weary streets of snow and i looked into her kind and wise eyes and saw for the first time both her timelessness and her fragility, and my heart at that moment cried of the truth, as i wondered, though somewhat selfishly, of when her stay on earth is done who will then, as i must still remain, be there when, she is gone, who will be there, then, to mother me? |

As my mom aged, still able to mother her flock, there came a time when we learned to mother her and then we learned how much she had given us. Beautiful write. You've some lovely phrasing and word choice. Well done. KJ Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Inked One -- What an adornment you have crowned your mother with today -- so very beautiful! And, I certainly know that no one could ever be mother to me other than my own. ![]() |
