Pudding

I was asking a woman
I've known for awhile
if she was a good kisser.
That drew a smile.
But I didn't want a smile,
I wanted a kiss.
So I ask her again to see
if there was a part of
the conversation she missed.
You know what she told me,
"The proof is in the pudding."
By then, somewhat exasperated,
I smiled and said, "Well then,
be an angel and mix me up a batch."
