The pictures of ewe are still plastered over my walls. Fragile and regal, ewe gaze down upon me never expecting to be shorn. Our friends come to the house, Make awkward faces behind my back because the pictures of ewe are still there. “Is he mad?” they ask when alone. My callous indifference to the needs of ewe, always expecting ewe to be around. As I lie to sleep, a crumpled heap heaving tears under a woolen blanket ewe created, I count ewe as solace, and realize ewe have gone the way of the wooly mammoth. |

The ewe thing is really distracting. I'm sure it has a purpose, but I think it takes away from the poem. "All you need is love..." -The Beatles |

(big hugggsssssss) Oh dearest friend, reading the last line was somewhat disturbing to read as it is so true. Jesus gave the lamb her woolly coat and to see it grow rougher and dense shows the roughness the whole meaning has taken! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Ah to be the gadfly. I really like your work. It reminds me of someone I know personally...and although I feel the deeper meanings...sometimes it's best to remain in the ecotones. Don't hesitate to delve deeper. TD |

gadfly, I rather liked the ewe- felt it lent to a deeper concept or feeling to those that were familiar with shepherding. Being raised on a farm, I'm aware of that naked feeling that a sheep must have after being shorn to share its rich lanolin wool to comfort us... Sorry to hear about the extinct wooly mammoth. I like the way you double layered this. ~SAdelite~ [This message has been edited by Sadelite (01-31-2004 02:03 PM).] |
