Some say the world should be seen only in black and white, with no distortion of shadows or gray, it only confusing their perceived reality. But I would go here, deep in the heart of barely apparent shadow moments becoming gray with hoarfrost if I stood still long enough, if my blood ran slow, and cold enough… but they tell me I am too warm, that pink, gold and green would put color into their life, they, the ones that live in shadows… ~*~ and in the barely see me here gray, there, on a small curving bridge, I revel in vastness so overwhelming, for no horizon is seen to give perspective, no top to come crashing down, just expansive gray, and thoughts that travel with no end… ~*~ maybe they see me here, somewhere in this poem, or just maybe, maybe I’m alone. ~*~ Photo, courtesy, C. Karilea, I enjoyed your writing, but I hope it's mainly the cold season that has you feeling forlorn of hope. I thought it was just me, but the more you talk to people, the more you find out that they too get these kinds of feelings during this time. But hey, we're in February already, and before we know it, all of these cool and icy thoughts will melt away, and you'll once again be surrounded by all the warm and vibrant colors that truly become, and suit you. And me too! I can't hardly wait. I keep saying I'm going to move closer to the equator... lol Well, you stay warm okay? And keep writing your wonderful poetry! Richy There's no such thing as a snow fork is there? lol A three pronged ice pick maybe? |

Wow to both poem and pic Kari. I've got a perfect Ansel Adams shot out my window. Tonight it's so bright from the snow reflecting the moonlight, that I can still see the black tree silhouettes against a white, almost iridescent sky. |

No...Dear One... YOU will never be alone, not even when all has stopped around you and the greys turn the meager light to darkness....Never....for in our hearts you reside....and with that a given, you will never be alone... |

I see you there Karilea! You have just walked out of view after sitting quietly on the bench. Lovely write and pic as well. I've missed your writing while I have been without my puter. hugs, Chris "At one glance |

The poem is great, and forlorn. The photo is darn near Ansel Adams in it's black-reference frame. Beautifully done. Kudos to whomever took the photo. I wonder what Toerag thinks of it, as he is a professional photographer. |
