standing on a shadow's lace

Liquid Lover

you have
held me
a thousand times
and I never
tire of
your sweet
embrace
my words
could never
do justice
to the beauty
of winter breath
floating above
your salty face
and how
the palm of
your gentle hand
fills up all
the empty spaces
of my skin
where I have
so carelessly
left so many
others out
to open up
and welcome
you in
and unlike
they
your waves
come rushing back
when I have
pushed you away
