Sunrise over Transco Tower magnificent Houston morn. How beautiful the lights of sky... Sometimes it feels like home. Yesterday is miles away left back a long, long lane with pine tree groves. There, love still grows. Yet still, I'll find a way. From back that lane, I saw much rain... mostly pain unhealing. Now I drive a harder road and have no time for past pain feeling. These jagged thoughts with pot-hole thumps I'm afflicted with now and then Are like the road I drive each day. Perhaps, time with soften them. Houston roads, 'tho bumpy, they have become a friend. Even with the traffic jams, I see more sky than then. |

The closest I ever felt to home was out on an early morning highway, alone. Thanks. |

We're seeing the same scenery... should get together one of these days! *S* I like this very much... poignant... but determined. *S* |

I really liked this. Have you ever read Peter Skrzynecki? you remind me of him and his poem Postcard. He tries to deny his heritage, and says 'I refuse to answer/the beckoning of the river/ and the clear blue sky (of something to this effect, terrible memory-but 'on the rivers edge/ a lone tree whispers/we will meet, before you die.' |

Jo - It sounds like you are looking ahead now - there is so much promise in the world for somebody as talented as you. I hope you miss more potholes along your way. Good luck you won't need to take with you - it tends to follow those who have love in their hearts - as you will always have. |

Jo, I read this a while back and thought I'd post against it later when I had more time. This is beautiful and so true. I know somewhat how hard it is to move from the land you love trying to establish a new life. (Remember me and Ga.?) You've done a great job. Love ya, Lil Sis |

iliana I like the metaphor you used here with life and the road...we have roads like that here in California too. I wish you well. |

I won't be able to drive along the highway with the same thoughts anymore... That's probably a good thing. You're good with metaphors, well done! Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

At one time I was thinking of moving to Houston to be near my sister, but while visiting she passed away. Coming home to Ohio was a peaceful feeling. Lovely poem. Love Bon-Bon |
