They're models even more than models now: They stand around with nipples pointed out Through fabric. They're accomplished at the pout, The vacant stare, the finely penciled brow. A normal, healthy girl is like a cow Compared to one, and surely seeds of doubt Will grow within her mind. She'll go without Her lunch, afraid of looking like a sow. She'll idolize the waifish shape they're in. To her, they're like a perfect rose's stem, So she'll become a tightened length of string. But even looking like a mannequin, She'll have to face the fact she's not like them, Since plastic people never feel a thing. |
