Hardened as  shell of egg, he is likened
To the crust of earth
perhaps fifty miles deep, perhaps
Where emotions choose not to seep.

Within the inner core, the inner yolk,
Burns not golden, hotter red, molten lava
While rock  returns to burning streams
Churning  olden dreams, fault line seams.

If  Earth were an apple, thereā€™d  be such a core,
With no burning metal or deadly Vesuvius lava,
But within nurtures tightly woven clutch,
Would rest star of apple seed desired much.

I really enjoyed this ...
As emotions pour from the inner core
You have so much to tell , I am glad you came out your shell

muted,
I hope the faultline feeling diminshes soon, muted.  Being on the edge is not a pleasant feeling.

iliana,
This could describe many.  Thanks for your response.  Have a good day, Jo. (I've used these hands-on analogies to teach my own children about the composition of the Earth...  It seems people, in some way, must be constructed similarly.)

Hope,
Thank you for reading and responding to this.  Yes, I've come out of many of my "shells" but have many more to go...

There are many things deep within any core......worth the digging, I think.  I really liked your poem!

Martie,
I agree.  The diggings are infinite.  And,
you must be aware of how I like your poems...
Thanks for your response.
