Innocent, beloved once. Unencumbered, only once, when I lost my heart. Tho, having lost the war, perhaps a little smarter. Oh, to love with no strings upon us. Could one receive love without weaving a web about it? Can I love you again without casting silver strings into your soul? Would you confess it -- that my love made you whole? All that is behind me thus to show I cannot love again -- Not the way we knew it then. I wish you could remember that lifetime. You have my heart, you took it without knowing. I made the sacrifice just as if you had laid me on my dreamstate altar. I will always love you, Keeper of my heart. That is why I cry. I do believe you will keep it safely because I know you do not remember. We lose our hearts to find our souls. |

The miracles that occur in a lifetime might sting, yet without them the door would never open. Hugs, TD Wonderful write. |

Thank you all dear poet friends. I was not sure I'd post this one as I really did not know if anyone would make sense of it other than me. Thanks so much for reading. .....jo |

You gals from Texas always come up with the heart wrenchers, y'know...is it something in the skies? Or just because your hearts are as big as Texas itself? This...is very good, Jo. |

Sunshine, you're so sweet to take the time to read and reply. Many tears over this one -- and a new heart, too. .....jo PS (I'm really not a native Texan although I've birthed one of my two children here so that makes me at least an honorary one, I guess -- I'm a buckeye, believe it or not!) |

Jo~ I felt tears in this piece ...~ I think it's good to remember those moments that give us tears ... for it means, to me, that what we care most about ... is worth remembering~ ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

iliana, I read this through three times so far, each time seeing and feeling more. Is this a recently written poem? I enjoyed the reflective flow to this. To the library for easy access. |

Jo, two things. First, do you carry a buckeye in your pocket for luck? Secondly, I have two wonderful friends who have been Houstonites for some 30 years. I think, by osmosis, one who lives in Texas for any amount of time can rightfully claim that they are a son/daughter of the state by the love of it, alone. They travel from there, to their original/second home here, and it is my good luck to be able to entertain them this coming weekend. Again, this is a very good read. Hard to write, I know, but then the best is never easy, Jo. Trial by fire, you know. |
