Fate Is Too Kind |

Your words are such a potion, They tend to melt my heart. The thought of such a passion- Nearly tears my world apart. And yet I guess it's folly- For a fool to dare to dream- For all those midnight fantasies, Are never like they seem. So let the wind blow softly- Across the Texas plain... A full moon lights the prairie, As our teardrops fall like rain... We both will go on longing, For a dream which cannot be- And I will go on missing you, Like you are missing me. So if you see a horseman- Riding far and all alone- Hat pulled low, and collar up, Against the norther's moan. Rest assured he's thinking, Of the one he left so blue, His thoughts belong to only one, That only one is you. So won't you burn a candle, In your window late at night... He just might ride this way again, Watching for your light. In this life, or the next one- You're sure to win his heart... I know that fate is far too kind... To keep you two apart. |
