snoozes in the sun
but seen with two year old eyes
she lays in shadows

What a beautiful scene you've captured... both a snapshot and a peek at the relationships. *S* I like this very much! *S*

Martie,
This made me think about our black lab who USED TO have a black muzzle.  Now he has
distinguished gray, but I remember him as a bouncy pup, which he still is on occasions.
    Your poem is wonderfully received.

Thank you, friends, for your sweet replies to this poem.  I was taking care of my grandaughter today, and my Chihuahua, Precious, was laying in front of the door where the sun was streaming in.  She (grandaughter) pointed...and I said, yes, she's sleeping in the sun.  She said, "no, she's sleeping in the shadows."  Well she just captured me with her way of seeing...and I had to write this little piece of her.

Martie does Senryu -- and prettily of course! Makes me want to pet that doggie and see if her fur is hot from the sunshine.

I read in one of the replies that you wrote, how this poem came about! ~ How utterly precious!

Big hugs to all 3 of you!
